A large format for a small building. The generous page size does full justice to Hellsten’s accomplished photographs: the viewer steps into the world of the images and begins to see anew a building they may have passed countless of times before. The poetic images and the dreaminess of the transparent paper are sharpened by the bold typography and layout.

Light as a breath, this small book object feels both fragile and compelling at the same time. On the cover, the sharp imprints left by the typewriter give the reader the impression of standing before a shared secret. Reflections on humanity are written on small sheets of paper and illustrated using cyanotype. The paper form, resisting a fixed direction of reading, examines the things that anchor us to life in all its fragility.

Screen-printed and hand-bound in Italy, this work captivates with its rich use of colour, which is superbly complemented by the chosen printing technique. The thick, cardboard-like paper is a justified choice for this 28-page outpouring of colour. The powerful, text-free cover both challenges the reader and draws them in.
