These joyous city images offer a wealth of content for children and adults to peruse. Hometown readers will encounter many dear and familiar things in this book but it serves just as well as a guide for a child visiting Helsinki. The information boxes, illustrations brimming with details and surprises, and the text parts mindful of children turn this journey into an expedition into the rich world of design – objects, outfits, places to play, pastry…

The tall and narrow format has once again been used so skillfully that it feels new. The front and back cover form almost of their own will an amusing entity, decisively divided by the red spine. Illustrations fill the pages inside starting from the endpages, leaving only the title page white. The coloring and composition is so vibrant and light that the reader’s interest is never lost.

A warm and loveable book. Its small size and endearing appearance are delightful. The illustrator must know the subject well, so distinct are her small studies of dogs and their territories. She has brought the best out of the black and whiteness of the illustrations, by richly altering different textures and surfaces. The illustrations of different sizes and shapes enliven the layout in a charming way. The typography is refreshing with its relaxed hand lettering. You’d almost want to cuddle this book!
